[PATCH net] selftests: rds: move include.sh to TEST_FILES

The include.sh file is generated for inclusion and should not be executable. Otherwise, it will be added to kselftest-list.txt. [RFC v2] MAINTAINERS: split kselftest entry into 'framework' and 'all'

The testing effort is increasing throughout the community. The tests are generally merged into the subsystem trees, and are of relatively narrow interest. The patch volume on linux-kselftest(a)vger.kernel.org makes it hard to follow the changes to the framework, and discuss proposals. Create a new ML focused on the framework of kselftests, which will hopefully be similarly low volume to the workflows@ mailing list. From the responses to v1 I gather that the preference is to keep the existing list for all (or create an alias to it); the framework-only section should be the one to have a new list created. [PATCH net-next v3] af_unix: pass pidfd flags via SCM_PIDFD cmsg

Currently SCM_PIDFD cmsg cannot be sent via unix socket (returns -EINVAL) and SO_PASSPIDFD doesn't support flags. The created pidfd always has flags set to 0. This patch implements SCM_PIDFD cmsg in AF_UNIX socket, which can be used to send flags to SO_PASSPIDFD-enabled recipient. Self-test is added for the propagation of PIDFD_NONBLOCK flag. This is mainly needed for the future extensions, like eg this one: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/8288a08e-448b-43c2-82dc-59f87d0d9072@yandex.ru… where it was suggested to try solving the supplementary groups problem with pidfd. [PATCH v3] selftests/lam: Test get_user() LAM pointer handling

Recent change in how get_user() handles pointers [1] has a specific case for LAM. It assigns a different bitmask that's later used to check whether a pointer comes from userland in get_user(). While currently commented out (until LASS [2] is merged into the kernel) it's worth making changes to the LAM selftest ahead of time. Add test case to LAM that utilizes a ioctl (FIOASYNC) syscall which uses get_user() in its implementation. Execute the syscall with differently tagged pointers to verify that valid user pointers are passing through and invalid kernel/non-canonical pointers are not. Code was tested on a Sierra Forest Xeon machine that's LAM capable. The test was ran without issues with both the LAM lines from [1] untouched and commented out. The test was also ran without issues with LAM_SUP both enabled and disabled. 4/5 level pagetables code paths were also successfully tested in Simics on a 5-level capable machine. [PATCH v5] Kunit to check the longest symbol length

The longest length of a symbol (KSYM_NAME_LEN) was increased to 512 in the reference [1]. This patch adds kunit test suite to check the longest symbol length. These tests verify that the longest symbol length defined is supported. This test can also help other efforts for longer symbol length, like [2]. The test suite defines two symbols, one with the longest length defined, and other one whit the longest length defined +1. In the test suite there are four tests, three positive and one negative. The first and third tests, verify that functions with names of the created symbols, can be called or not. The second and fourth tests, verify that the symbols are created (or not) in the kernel symbol table. [PATCH net v2 2/2] selftests: net: test extacks in netlink dumps

Test that extacks in dumps work. The test fills up the receive buffer to test both the inline dump (as part of sendmsg()) and delayed one (run during recvmsg()). Use YNL helpers to parse the messages. We need to add the test to YNL file to make sure the right include path are used. [RFC] Test catalog template

Hi, At Linux Plumbers, a few dozen of us gathered together to discuss how to expose what tests subsystem maintainers would like to run for every patch submitted or when CI runs tests. We agreed on a mock up of a yaml template to start gathering info. The yaml file could be temporarily stored on kernelci.org until a more permanent home could be found. Attached is a template to start the conversation. Longer story. The current problem is CI systems are not unanimous about what tests they run on submitted patches or git branches. This makes it difficult to figure out why a test failed or how to reproduce. Further, it isn't always clear what tests a normal contributor should run before posting patches. It has been long communicated that the tests LTP, xfstest and/or kselftests should be the tests to run. However, not all maintainers use those tests for their subsystems. I am hoping to either capture those tests or find ways to convince them to add their tests to the preferred locations. The goal is for a given subsystem (defined in MAINTAINERS), define a set of tests that should be run for any contributions to that subsystem. The hope is the collective CI results can be triaged collectively (because they are related) and even have the numerous flakes waived collectively (same reason) improving the ability to find and debug new test failures. Because the tests and process are known, having a human help debug any failures becomes easier. The plan is to put together a minimal yaml template that gets us going (even if it is not optimized yet) and aim for about a dozen or so subsystems. At that point we should have enough feedback to promote this more seriously and talk optimizations. Feedback encouraged.
