[PATCH v4 1/8] drm/panfrost: Fix scheduler workqueue bug

When the GPU scheduler was ported to using a struct for its initialization parameters, it was overlooked that panfrost creates a distinct workqueue for timeout handling. The pointer to this new workqueue is not initialized to the struct, resulting in NULL being passed to the scheduler, which then uses the system_wq for timeout handling. Set the correct workqueue to the init args struct. [PATCH 2/2] mmc: core: sd: Fix and simplify SD card current limit handling

The SD spec says: "In UHS-I mode, after selecting one of SDR50, SDR104, or DDR50 mode by Function Group 1, host needs to change the Power Limit to enable the card to operate in higher performance". The driver previously determined SD card current limits incorrectly by checking capability bits before bus speed was established, and by using support bits in function group 4 (bytes 6 & 7) rather than the actual current requirement (bytes 0 & 1). This is wrong because the card responds for a given bus speed. This patch queries the card's current requirement after setting the bus speed, and uses the reported value to select the appropriate current limit. while at it, remove some unused constants and the misleading comment in the code. The ptdump code can race with concurrent modifications of the kernel page tables. When leaf entries are modified concurrently, the dump code may log stale or inconsistent information for a VA range, but this is otherwise not harmful. But when intermediate levels of kernel page table are freed, the dump code will continue to use memory that has been freed and potentially reallocated for another purpose. In such cases, the ptdump code may dereference bogus addresses, leading to a number of potential problems. To avoid the above mentioned race condition, platforms such as arm64, riscv and s390 take memory hotplug lock, while dumping kernel page table via the sysfs interface /sys/kernel/debug/kernel_page_tables. Similar race condition exists while checking for pages that might have been marked W+X via /sys/kernel/debug/kernel_page_tables/check_wx_pages which in turn calls ptdump_check_wx(). Instead of solving this race condition again, let's just move the memory hotplug lock inside generic ptdump_check_wx() which will benefit both the scenarios. While working on improving vm_normal_page() and friends, I stumbled over this issues: refcounted "normal" folios must not be marked using pmd_special() / pud_special(). Otherwise, we're effectively telling the system that these folios are no "normal", violating the rules we documented for vm_normal_page(). Fortunately, there are not many pmd_special()/pud_special() users yet. So far there doesn't seem to be serious damage. Tested using the ndctl tests ("ndctl:dax" suite). This patch (of 3): We set up the cache mode but ... don't forward the updated pgprot to insert_pfn_pud(). Only a problem on x86-64 PAT when mapping PFNs using PUDs that require a special cachemode. Fix it by using the proper pgprot where the cachemode was setup. It is unclear in which configurations we would get the cachemode wrong: through vfio seems possible. Getting cachemodes wrong is usually ... bad. As the fix is easy, let's backport it to stable. Identified by code inspection. Its filename was mm-memory-tier-fix-abstract-distance-calculation-overflow.patch This patch was dropped because it was merged into the mm-stable branch of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/akpm/mm ------------------------------------------------------ From: Li Zhijian <lizhijian(a)fujitsu.com> Subject: mm/memory-tier: fix abstract distance calculation overflow Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2025 14:27:51 +0800 In mt_perf_to_adistance(), the calculation of abstract distance (adist) involves multiplying several int values including MEMTIER_ADISTANCE_DRAM. *adist = MEMTIER_ADISTANCE_DRAM * (perf->read_latency + perf->write_latency) / (default_dram_perf.read_latency + default_dram_perf.write_latency) * (default_dram_perf.read_bandwidth + default_dram_perf.write_bandwidth) / (perf->read_bandwidth + perf->write_bandwidth); Since these values can be large, the multiplication may exceed the maximum value of an int (INT_MAX) and overflow (Our platform did), leading to an incorrect adist. User-visible impact: The memory tiering subsystem will misinterpret slow memory (like CXL) as faster than DRAM, causing inappropriate demotion of pages from CXL (slow memory) to DRAM (fast memory). For example, we will see the following demotion chains from the dmesg, where Node0,1 are DRAM, and Node2,3 are CXL node: Demotion targets for Node 0: null Demotion targets for Node 1: null Demotion targets for Node 2: preferred: 0-1, fallback: 0-1 Demotion targets for Node 3: preferred: 0-1, fallback: 0-1 Change MEMTIER_ADISTANCE_DRAM to be a long constant by writing it with the 'L' suffix. This prevents the overflow because the multiplication will then be done in the long type which has a larger range.
