Biederman" <ebiederm(a)xmission.com> [ Upstream commit 7771c66457004977b616bab785209f49d164f527 ] Setting si_code to 0 results in a userspace seeing an si_code of 0. This is the same si_code as SI_USER. Posix and common sense requires that SI_USER not be a signal specific si_code. As such this use of 0 for the si_code is a pretty horribly broken ABI. Further use of si_code == 0 guaranteed that copy_siginfo_to_user saw a value of __SI_KILL and now sees a value of SIL_KILL with the result that uid and pid fields are copied and which might copying the si_addr field by accident but certainly not by design. Making this a very flakey implementation. Utilizing FPE_FIXME, siginfo_layout will now return SIL_FAULT and the appropriate fields will be reliably copied. Here the end address may overflow the integer, although resource_contains() still returns true because the function validates only start and end address. So this ends up with returning an invalid resource (start > end). There was already an attempt to cover such a problem in the commit 47ea91b4052d ("Resource: fix wrong resource window calculation"), but this case is an overseen one. This patch adds the validity check of the newly calculated resource for avoiding the integer overflow problem. Switches occur when enough writes are issued from a new domain. This existing pattern is thus suspicious: lock_page_memcg(page); unlocked_inode_to_wb_begin(inode, &locked); ... unlocked_inode_to_wb_end(inode, locked); unlock_page_memcg(page); If both inode switch and process memcg migration are both in-flight then unlocked_inode_to_wb_end() will unconditionally enable interrupts while still holding the lock_page_memcg() irq spinlock. Out of bounds memory access past the pt_regs struct results. This will go mostly undetected unless access is beyond end of memory. Prevent the race by disabling interrupts in get_reg(). Tested on m68k (Atari Falcon, and ARAnyM emulator). Kudos to Geert Uytterhoeven for helping to trace this race. [PATCH 1/2] slab: __GFP_ZERO is incompatible with a constructor
