[PATCH] r8152: Suspend USB device before shutdown when WoL is enabled

For Wake-on-LAN to work from S5 (shutdown), the USB link must be put in U3 state. If it is not, and the host "disappears", the chip will no longer respond to WoL triggers. To resolve this, add a notifier block and register it as a reboot notifier. When WoL is enabled, work through the usb_device struct to get to the suspend function. Calling this function puts the link in the correct state for WoL to function. [PATCH v2 1/3] mm: lock a vma before stack expansion

[PATCH] drm/shmem-helper: Reset vma->vm_ops before calling dma_buf_mmap()

The dma-buf backend is supposed to provide its own vm_ops, but some implementation just have nothing special to do and leave vm_ops untouched, probably expecting this field to be zero initialized (this is the case with the system_heap implementation for instance). Let's reset vma->vm_ops to NULL to keep things working with these implementations. [PATCH v3 1/2] Perform additional retries if Doorbell read returns 0

The driver retries certain register reads for 3 times if the returned value is 0, this was done based on hardware specification where the controller could possibly return 0 for certain registers when there is a parallel access to some of other registers from the firmware due to BMC out of band interactions.Recently it is observed that in certain systems with increased BMC interactions, the values returned are 0 even for 3 retries (the proper value is returned between 4 to 6 retries).Hence this patch changes the retry count 3 to 30, which is a revised recommendation, to avoid the out of band conflict. [PATCH v2 1/2] perf build: Update build rule for generated files

The bison and flex generate C files from the source (.y and .l) files. When O= option is used, they are saved in a separate directory but the default build rule assumes the .C files are in the source directory. So it might read invalid file if there are generated files from an old version. The same is true for the pmu-events files. For example, the following command would cause a build failure: $ git checkout v6.3 $ make -C tools/perf # build in the same directory $ git checkout v6.5-rc2 $ mkdir build # create a build directory $ make -C tools/perf O=build # build in a different directory but it # refers files in the source directory Let's update the build rule to specify those cases explicitly to depend on the files in the output directory. Note that it's not a complete fix and it needs the next patch for the include path too. [PATCH 0/2] don't use mapcount() to check large folio sharing

[RESEND PATCH v8 06/10] serial: sc16is7xx: fix regression with GPIO configuration

From: Hugo Villeneuve <hvilleneuve(a)dimonoff.com> Commit 679875d1d880 ("sc16is7xx: Separate GPIOs from modem control lines") and commit 21144bab4f11 ("sc16is7xx: Handle modem status lines") changed the function of the GPIOs pins to act as modem control lines without any possibility of selecting GPIO function. As a consequence, applications that depends on GPIO lines configured by default as GPIO pins no longer work as expected. Also, the change to select modem control lines function was done only for channel A of dual UART variants (752/762). This was not documented in the log message. Allow to specify GPIO or modem control line function in the device tree, and for each of the ports (A or B). Do so by using the new device-tree property named "modem-control-line-ports" (property added in separate patch). When registering GPIO chip controller, mask-out GPIO pins declared as modem control lines according to this new "modem-control-line-ports" DT property. Boards that need to have GPIOS configured as modem control lines should add that property to their device tree. [PATCH v1] usb: typec: altmodes/displayport: Signal hpd when configuring pin assignment

When connecting to some DisplayPort partners, the initial status update after entering DisplayPort Alt Mode notifies that the DFP_D/UFP_D is not in the connected state. This leads to sending a configure message that keeps the device in USB mode. The port partner then sets DFP_D/UFP_D to the connected state and HPD to high in the same Attention message. Currently, the HPD signal is dropped in order to handle configuration. This patch saves changes to the HPD signal when the device chooses to configure during dp_altmode_status_update, and invokes sysfs_notify if necessary for HPD after configuring.
