Dropped from the 6.6, 6.1, 5.15, and 5.10 queues -- the dso__rel() inline came in as part of the dso refcount refactor that was never backported to those versions. Kept on 7.0/6.18/6.12 where the inline is present and the patch builds.
Thanks for the report.

This warning happens on our tests for Apalis iMX6, and seems to come from the imx6_pcie_probe function in the pci-imx6.c driver. We found some instances of this happening on as early as 6.6.129. This went unnoticed until now, we're not sure when this started to happen.
Do you know what could be causing the duplicate file here?

This is a known issue you are seeing here manifesting itself. Given this specific error message.

Sorry you are having issues with this!
When you have a moment, consider changes from the following series:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/pci/pci.git/log/?h=sysfs
Test, and let us know if this fixes the problem for you.
I would appreciate if you could test this for us.
Do you know what could be causing the duplicate file here?
The series cover letter has a bit of information about what is going on here, and why, see:
https://lore.kernel.org/linux-pci/20260508043543.217179-1-kwilczynski@kernel...
Hope this helps.
Thank you!
Krzysztof
Hello,
When you have a moment, consider changes from the following series:
https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/pci/pci.git/log/?h=sysfs
Test, and let us know if this fixes the problem for you.
I would appreciate if you could test this for us.
I realise that 6.6 is a bit of a far cry from changes against the upcoming 7.2 release, so you might have to massage the series/patches into sensible state, so to speak.
Let me know if testing is too involved, given the need to potentially backport a lot. I will think of something.
Thank you!
Krzysztof

I tried backporting the patches to do a test, but it turned out giving too many errors due to the different context. Since it's not really breaking anything, we'll leave it as it currently is.
Either way thanks a lot for clarifying this! It's good knowing the patches where this issue was addressed.

Hi!
This is the start of the stable review cycle for the 6.6.141 release. There are 508 patches in this series, all will be posted as a response to this one. If anyone has any issues with these being applied, please let me know.
CIP testing did not find any problems here:

Builds, boots and works on my 2-socket Ivy Bridge Xeon E5-2697 v2 server. No dmesg oddities or regressions found.

Responses should be made by Fri, 22 May 2026 16:20:16 +0000. Anything received after that time might be too late.
The whole patch series can be found in one patch at: https://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/v6.x/stable-review/patch-6.6.141-rc1... or in the git tree and branch at: git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/stable/linux-stable-rc.git linux-6.6.y and the diffstat can be found below.

The build fails on RISC-V RV64 with:
arch/riscv/net/bpf_jit_comp64.c: In function 'arch_prepare_bpf_trampoline': arch/riscv/net/bpf_jit_comp64.c:1064:9: error: implicit declaration of function 'bpf_flush_icache' [-Wimplicit-function-declaration] 1064 | bpf_flush_icache(ctx.insns, ctx.insns + ctx.ninsns); | ^~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Reverting commit "bpf, riscv: Remove redundant bpf_flush_icache() after pack allocator finalize" commit id af7b502c916a4950d697b67f5e39c19cfeb5da4b resolves the issue.
