Commit 09c2f95ad404 introduced a bug apparent on powerpc64 systems causing SAS HBAs relying on mpt3sas to drop from the PCIe bus under load, rendering those devices virtually useless.
As linux-4.19 is a longterm kernel, the bug would affect those systems for a long time otherwise.
Looks like it is now queued up.
