I'd think you'd want to backport 83f4414b8f84 to before folios existing, so you may as well use the same patch for 6.6 as you'd want to use for those older kernels. ie:
if (unlikely(!page_buffers(page))) { unlock_page(page); put_page(page); return -EIO; }
but maybe this has already been discussed and I wasn't cc'd on that discussion.
