Depending on the variant of silicon, this field may share the same memory space as the lower byte of the system status register (0x10). In these cases, caching the reserved byte and writing it later may effectively reset the device depending on what happened in between the read and write operations. Solve this problem by avoiding any access to this last byte within offending register groups. This method replaces a workaround which attempted to write the reserved byte with up-to-date contents, but left a small window in which updates by the device could have been clobbered. Now that the driver does not touch these reserved bytes, the order in which the device's registers are written no longer matters, and they can be written in their natural order. The new method is also much more generic, and can be more easily extended to new variants of silicon with different register maps. As part of this change, the register read and write functions must be gently updated to support byte access instead of word access. [PATCH] arm64: dts: rockchip: Remove workaround that prevented Turing RK1 GPU power regulator control

The RK3588 GPU power domain cannot be activated unless the external power regulator is already on. When GPU support was added to this DT, we had no way to represent this requirement, so `regulator-always-on` was added to the `vdd_gpu_s0` regulator in order to ensure stability. A later patch series (see "Fixes:" commit) resolved this shortcoming, but that commit left the workaround -- and rendered the comment above it no longer correct. Remove the workaround to allow the GPU power regulator to power off, now that the DT includes the necessary information to power it back on correctly. This updates the hugetlbfs reservation counter of the reservation map which at this point is referenced by both the source vma and the new copy. As a result, once the new vma has been freed and copy_vma() returns, the reservation counter for the source vma will be incorrect. This patch addresses this corner case by clearing the hugetlb private page reservation reference for the new vma and decrementing the reference before closing the vma, so that vma_close() won't update the reservation counter. This is also what copy_vma_and_data() does with the source vma if copy_vma() succeeds, so a helper function has been added to do the fixup in both functions. The issue was reported by a private syzbot instance and can be reproduced using the C reproducer in [1]. It's also a possible duplicate of public syzbot report [2].
