This can lead to endless list iterations and a subsequent crash. The queue_lock is supposed to be used only for queue lists belonging to dasd_block. For dasd_device related queue lists the ccwdev lock must be used. Fix the mentioned issues by correctly using the ccwdev lock instead of the queue lock. [PATCH 1/2] jffs2: initialize filesystem-private inode info in ->alloc_inode callback

The symlink body (->target) should be freed at the same time as the inode itself per commit 4fdcfab5b553 ("jffs2: fix use-after-free on symlink traversal"). It is a filesystem-specific field but there exist several error paths during generic inode allocation when ->free_inode(), namely jffs2_free_inode(), is called with still uninitialized private info. The calltrace looks like: alloc_inode inode_init_always // fails i_callback free_inode jffs2_free_inode // touches uninit ->target field Commit af9a8730ddb6 ("jffs2: Fix potential illegal address access in jffs2_free_inode") approached the observed problem but fixed it only partially. Our local Syzkaller instance is still hitting these kinds of failures. The thing is that jffs2_i_init_once(), where the initialization of f->target has been moved, is called once per slab allocation so it won't be called for the object structure possibly retrieved later from the slab cache for reuse. The practice followed by many other filesystems is to initialize filesystem-private inode contents in the corresponding ->alloc_inode() callbacks. This also allows to drop initialization from jffs2_iget() and jffs2_new_inode() as ->alloc_inode() is called in those places. Found by Linux Verification Center (linuxtesting.org) with Syzkaller. [PATCH] Revert "ext4: apply umask if ACL support is disabled"

The commit caused a regression because now the umask was applied to symlinks and the fix is unnecessary because the umask/O_TMPFILE bug has been fixed somewhere else already. [PATCH] drm: panel: jd9365da-h3: fix reset signal polarity

From: Hugo Villeneuve <hvilleneuve(a)dimonoff.com> In jadard_prepare() a reset pulse is generated with the following statements (delays ommited for clarity): gpiod_set_value(jadard->reset, 1); --> Deassert reset gpiod_set_value(jadard->reset, 0); --> Assert reset for 10ms gpiod_set_value(jadard->reset, 1); --> Deassert reset However, specifying second argument of "0" to gpiod_set_value() means to deassert the GPIO, and "1" means to assert it. If the reset signal is defined as GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW in the DTS, the above statements will incorrectly generate the reset pulse (inverted) and leave it asserted (LOW) at the end of jadard_prepare(). Fix reset behavior by inverting gpiod_set_value() second argument in jadard_prepare(). Also modify second argument to devm_gpiod_get() in jadard_dsi_probe() to assert the reset when probing. Do not modify it in jadard_unprepare() as it is already properly asserted with "1", which seems to be the intended behavior. While not stated anywhere in the APM, despite stating the ICR is a single 64-bit register, AMD CPUs store the 64-bit ICR as two separate 32-bit values in ICR and ICR2. When IPI virtualization (IPIv on Intel, all AVIC flavors on AMD) is enabled, KVM needs to match CPU behavior as some ICR ICR writes will be handled by the CPU, not by KVM. Add a kvm_x86_ops knob to control the underlying format used by the CPU to store the x2APIC ICR, and tune it to AMD vs. Intel regardless of whether or not x2AVIC is enabled. If KVM is handling all ICR writes, the storage format for x2APIC mode doesn't matter, and having the behavior follow AMD versus Intel will provide better test coverage and ease debugging. When using the in-kernel pd-mapper on x1e80100, client drivers often fail to communicate with the firmware during boot, which specifically breaks battery and USB-C altmode notifications. This has been observed to happen on almost every second boot (41%) but likely depends on probe order: pmic_glink_altmode.pmic_glink_altmode pmic_glink.altmode.0: failed to send altmode request: 0x10 (-125) pmic_glink_altmode.pmic_glink_altmode pmic_glink.altmode.0: failed to request altmode notifications: -125 ucsi_glink.pmic_glink_ucsi pmic_glink.ucsi.0: failed to send UCSI read request: -125 qcom_battmgr.pmic_glink_power_supply pmic_glink.power-supply.0: failed to request power notifications In the same setup audio also fails to probe albeit much more rarely: PDR: avs/audio get domain list txn wait failed: -110 PDR: service lookup for avs/audio failed: -110 Chris Lew has provided an analysis and is working on a fix for the ECANCELED (125) errors, but it is not yet clear whether this will also address the audio regression. Even if this was first observed on x1e80100 there is currently no reason to believe that these issues are specific to that platform. Disable the in-kernel pd-mapper for now, and make sure to backport this to stable to prevent users and distros from migrating away from the user-space service. [PATCH v2] kbuild: switch from lz4c to lz4 for compression

From: Parth Pancholi <parth.pancholi(a)toradex.com> Replace lz4c with lz4 for kernel image compression. Although lz4 and lz4c are functionally similar, lz4c has been deprecated upstream since 2018. Since as early as Ubuntu 16.04 and Fedora 25, lz4 and lz4c have been packaged together, making it safe to update the requirement from lz4c to lz4. Consequently, some distributions and build systems, such as OpenEmbedded, have fully transitioned to using lz4. OpenEmbedded core adopted this change in commit fe167e082cbd ("bitbake.conf: require lz4 instead of lz4c"), causing compatibility issues when building the mainline kernel in the latest OpenEmbedded environment, as seen in the errors below. This change also updates the LZ4 compression commands to make it backward compatible by replacing stdin and stdout with the '-' option, due to some unclear reason, the stdout keyword does not work for lz4 and '-' works for both. In addition, this modifies the legacy '-c1' with '-9' which is also compatible with both. This fixes the mainline kernel build failures with the latest master OpenEmbedded builds associated with the mentioned compatibility issues. [PATCH v2 7/7] ima: Reset IMA_NONACTION_RULE_FLAGS after post_setattr

However, it seems that the latter commit mistakenly used the wrong mask when moving the code from ima_inode_post_setattr() to process_measurement(). There is no mention in the commit message about this change and it looks quite important, since changing from IMA_ACTIONS_FLAGS (later renamed to IMA_NONACTION_FLAGS) to IMA_ACTION_RULE_FLAGS was done by commit 42a4c603198f0 ("ima: fix ima_inode_post_setattr"). Restore the original change, but with new mask 0xfb000000 since the policy-specific flags changed meanwhile, and rename IMA_ACTION_RULE_FLAGS to IMA_NONACTION_RULE_FLAGS, to be consistent with IMA_NONACTION_FLAGS.
