I have raised a bug report at the launchpad.

I have tried the cross compiling option, but it fails due to other system dependent issues on x86 platform.
Also, The library as such has very little support fro cross compiling.

Yes this means you have no swap on your system.

But you do have 1GB of memory of which about 575 MB is free, so I would still say the evidence is that this test case is using excessive amounts of memory and so raising a bug report would be useful.
